The zoo comes to you

I came across this picture and it made me laugh so I thought I would share it. Blayne loved this. Sometimes animals come an make themselves your pets. Our grampsy has made some new friends that seem to like to steal the cats food (I hear they like marshmellos too). Who would have thought that a raccoon and a opossum would be buddies. We got a kick out of watching them hang out on the back patio.

The Shot Store

Its time, well past time to get the boys flu shots. I have never had one, but their doctor recomended it so I guess they get one. Their doctor is an hour away so I decided we would just take them to the health clininc here in town and save the trip. I called them on friday to see when they did them and the lady told me tuesday. So yesterday I ask bryan take off work for a few minutes to go help me. (He is the one after all who told Blayne if he didn't eat his food he would get sick and have to go get a shot at the doctor.) So we head over for flu shots. No one was upset about this, so I am thinking they have no idea what they are headed for. We get there and they are closed for Vetrans day. So i guess we will be going back NEXT tuesday.

Later that day Blayne says to me "are we getting shots?" I tell him "no, not today." he says " Oh, the shot store is closed."

A Pumpikn & A Monkey

I love halloween. It is always busy, but alot of fun for the kids. We carve a pumpkin every year. We have been doing this since Before Blayne was born, but this year Blayne had a blast with it. He dug all the guts out and helped choose the face we would put on it. This years face wasn't as much work as last years Pablo from the Backyardigans, but that was good because Blayne got to help alot. Don't worry Blake your day will come. We toasted the pumpkin seeds and sat pumkin out in front of the house. Bryan tried to get Blayne to give the pumpkin a name, but he insisted that his name WAS pumpkin. so there you go.

We went trick or treating at familys houses, then to the game for trunk-or-treat and some Hornet Football!! Another thing we do every year is go to the Fall Festival or Carnival as I call it at Highland. It was the week before halloween and was lots of fun this year. Blayne is getting big enough to actually play the games. He won a cake the first time he played the cake walk.....so after that he thought that you were supposed to get a cake every time you walked. We ate some good food and played bingo till 2 as usual. Lots of fun!

Hot Air Balloon Festival

A little while ago we went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Abilene. They had lots of inflatables that Blayne had a blast on. I wasn't sure how he would like it because there were lots of big kids, but he had so much fun. Then a pony ride that Blayne loved......Blake not so much. Blake really liked the horses...untill I put him on one. He would rather pet them. then the hot air balloons started going up. When we first arrived there was not a balloon in sight, but then all the sudden they were everywhere. It was really cool.

Let's Play

Summer is finally over I guess, we are still having some warm days, but i believe my favorite season has passed. The days are getting shorter and the outside playtime getting less. So at an attempt to at least do a blog here are some pictures of Blayne and Blake having some fun playing outstide at Meme and Pop's, enjoying some of those last beautiful days.
Pop is building a fort for the grandkids and boy do they love it. Blake likes to climb the steps...well Blake likes to climb on anything.

Blake Walks!

Ok, so Blake has been taking steps for about three weeks or so, but i finally managed to get a good viedo and get it on to the computer. He is really starting to get around now. He is getting so big. He can keep up with all the big kids now. He still gets down and bear crawls when he wants to go really fast.

So, summer is about over and I know I have missed a lot. I will try to catch up, but here are a few pictures for now. Blayne and Blake both love to play in the water, so we spend alot of time outside.

This next one is Blayne and his friend Tenley "sharing" the blanket. Not to be confused with playing tug of war.

I love it

Well it looks like Blayne has decided to teach Blake to walk. This has to be one of the greatest things I have seen. Blake kept trying to get on the little 4 wheeler while blayne was playing with it. The first time Blayne just draged Blake across the grass on his nose, but Blake is very determined and kept going back. so after laughing for a while we had to get a viedo of it, of course. Oh, the fun they will have!

Hmm Whats this?

So last night I was checking email and Blayne was in the room with me watching the fish and playing. I hear him say "hmm whats this?"...followed by some pounding with his cup on the floor. humm whats this is'nt really an odd thing for him to say, but after the pounding I decided to see what he was up to. I look down and there it is, not far at all from my bare feet is a huge semidead scorpion.......I guess he's not afraid of bugs. I didnt want to scare him so I said" oh, good job, but lets tell mommy and let her help us when we find those kind of bugs because they can sting us and make us cry".
I couldnt believe my 2 yr old killed a scorpion. I think he was rather proud of himself for killing such a big bug. I am just glad it didnt sting him and wonder what it was doing in the house. Now I am watching everywhere I step. eek. oh, and also paying attention when Blayne says" humm, what's this".

Singing in the Tub

Blayne prefers singing in the tub rather than singing in the shower...here's a fun video of him singing his ABC's. Two year olds are so fun!

Camping

Well it took me a little while to manage to get the pictures on to the computer, but couple of weeks ago we went camping with Nene and Papa and had alot of fun. It was very nice during the day, but got cooold at night. the first night Bryan were tough guys and slept in the tent, while Blake and I slept in Nene and Papa's camper. I mean I had to sleep where it was nice and warm, you cant let an eight month old sleep in the cold right?? Well the second night was even colder so we all ended up sleeping in the camper, and Blake did his best to keep everyone up all night.

Blayne and his daddy did some fishing. I didn't get to help cause I didn't get a fishing license. Blayne really likes to fish......for about three minutes at a time, but the boy likes to fish. Here they are off to do a little more fishing. They went several times. Blayne would get down there fish for a few minutes then say " I'm done". Then after a while he was asking to go again.

Blake had fun too. He enjoyed crawling around after Otis (below). I don't think Otis was as fond of the idea though. I think Blake will enjoy camping more when he can get down and run around too.

Blayne and Blake got to play with some friends a few weeks ago at a playground here in town. They had alot of fun. I forgot to bring my camera so I had to steal the pictures from my friend Johnnie. Thanks Johnnie!! We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again sometime.......when it is all nice and warm!!! It was a cold morning.

Easter

Here are some pictures from Easter. We got to enjoy time with our families and the kids had fun hunting Oyster eggs. As we remembered what Christ did for us, we were thankful for the blessed life we get to live because of Him.

Everyday's an Adventure

So I will start at the end of the story, because of course its the good part. Water on the counter, water on the floor, water still running, a soaking wet child, and Blayne says" I am brushing my teeth". That's what I get for thinking it is safe to fold laundry. Back to the beginning. Blake is sound asleep in his bedroom, Blayne is watching some Diego and there is peace in the house, so I decide it is a good time to get some laundry put up. I am folding, i am putting away and I hear Blayne. Not from the living room where he WAS sitting on the couch mind you. So I follow the sound and find him. He's in the bathroom. There he is sitting with his feet in the sink, toothbrush in hand. The sink is full and overflowing on to the pretty new tile Bryan put down last weekend. What can I say the boy has clean teeth and the floor is good and clean now too. oh and the laundry, its still waiting to be put up.

I hope this will be a good way for us to share our lives with all of you. When I began "life as a grownup" I could have never imagined all the blessings it would bring. So here's a glimpse into our lives.

Bryan and I have been married for about six and a half years. Two and a half years ago we ventured into the unknown world of parenthood and wow what fun it has been. I'll start at the beginning with our oldest .....

BLAYNE

We were blesses with Blayne on June 13, 2005. He weighed 6.13 and was 19 inches long. Watching him grow and change has been so cool. He was a very calm and content baby. His personalty has gone from a very easy going baby to an outgoing toddler who loves to have fun, He makes us laugh alot. He is now two and a half. I love the age 2. They are so much fun, learning something new all the time, including independence, which can be challenging. He is all about doing it all himself. He is learning to do all kinds of big boy things. He wants to help daddy any chance he gets. He loves to go to the game, what ever kind of game it may be. Blayne is very sweet and is a great big brother. He tells Blake "its ok, don't worry" when he is fussing or piles toys on top of him to try to make him happy. He is glad that Blake is getting a little bigger and more mobile because he is more fun to play with now and doesn't require quite so much of mommy's time. He likes to play his guitar and sing The ABC's or Twinkle Twinkle little star. He is such an adventure.

BLAKE

Blake was Born on Aug 3, 2007. He weighed 6.6 and was 21 inches long. He is so sweet. He is now seven months old and wow, how did seven months go by already. I know....everybody says that, but it's ture. It goes by so fast. Blake is very much different than his big brother was in many ways. one of which being sleep, he dose'nt prefer to do it much, but who really needs it anyway. He is very active. He likes to have your full attention and will quickly tell you about it if he

dosen't . He has the sweetest smiles. I love to hear him laugh. He says dadadadada everything is da. He is just starting crawl....kinda. About a week ago he was scooting and now he is almost crawling. he gets where he wants to go how ever he can. It is alot of fun with two of them. it is really neat to watch them interact.

As I said I could have never imagined all of the blessings life would bring.
