All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth

So I have been the most inconsistant blogger ever for a while now, but here is a story to remember. Sunday evening about a week ago the boys were playing. What do boys do when they play? They chase, wack and tackle each other of course. And what do parents do?? They say “Hey stop that. Settle down.” Well just as Bryan said these words, Blake tackled Blayne and down they went.. Blayne went face first into the ottoman. As I was sitting right there I saw teeth fly out of his little mouth and blood everywhere. I did what any good mom would do and picked him up and moved him off of my new rug! As we attemped to assess the situation I realized that teeth don't like to be wacked out before they are ready and kids mouths bleed a lot when this happens.. there was blood all over his face, blood on the floor, somehow blood on my face. It was quiet event. Once all was cleaned up we could see that it was not too bad. Blayne was rather upset, as you can imagine. I though he was upset because of loosing his teeth. He said NO, IT HURTS! Well ok, that makes sense too. The pediatric dentist said they knocked out cleanly and the new ones would come in before too long. End result, Blayne lost his two front teeth in a little more creative way than expected. You have to watch out for those little brothers!

Feeling Blessed

Well, it's about time for an update, so that my blog doesn't say-last update 5 months ago! In time I hope to share about some things that have happened over the last 5 months, like moving into our new home, but for now just something that made me smile. Our youth at church are working on a project right now that has been a joy to me. We are raising funds to put in place a well that will give clean water to many people in Uganda. What a wonderful way to share God's love with people, by helping to meet their deepest needs. Last night when we were talking to the boys about the project and why we were doing it, Blayne says " I have a wallet and it has some money in it, I could do raising" meaning he could help with raising the money. It just made my heart smile that he wanted to give of what was his in order to help others.

Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's not

Worst run ever today! Over the past couple of months I have been training for a half-marathon. I have enjoyed most of it, but have had trouble with things along the way that have never really been a bother to me before, rolled ankle, shin splints, fun stuff. BUT I am super excited to have done my first double digit run on Sunday. 10 miles. woohoo.
Now, today was terrible. I had a hard time making myself finish three miles. It just seemed like a good comparison to me of how God never promised us it would be easy, but He did promise that if we keep going and trust him, we will finish and it will be worth it!

OK, so it has been awhile, but I have decided to start doing the blog thing again. Mostly for a record of the boys. They grow up so fast! With a few other things thrown in. So, I guess for starters one exciting thing, we will be getting to move into our new house it two weeks!

We Don't Like Grumpy Pumpkins

We have fun every year carving a pumpkin. It is getting to be more fun because the boys are getting big enough to participate more, rather than just watch. Blayne and Bryan picked out our pattren online. Blayne picked a really happy one because as he told us "we don't like grumpy pumpkins"! Blake got really grossed out and didn't like the cleaning out the pumpkin part as you can see from the picture. It was a great day for it. It was coooold outside so we had a fire going. We got our pumpkin all carved and started roasting the pumpkin seeds. Yummm! Then we had some brownies and played wii while we waited..............too much fun playing wiii. Forgot about the seeds and burnt them! Oh well, there will be another chance next year.

Crazy Hair Day

Well it didn't go as well as I had planed for crazy hair day, but we had alot of fun. Part of the hair is actually blue, but it didn't show up in the picture. But Blayne loved it. He loved going to school with his crazy hair. His teacher said he just walked in and stood there looking smiling at her like ....do you see my crazy hair. All of the kids had a lot of fun with this one!!
